Description

This course gives radiologic technologists a strong overview of the chest X-ray (CXR), the world's most common X-ray exam. It begins with CXR safety, technique, and basic instructions before moving into its use for disease, trauma, and research. The readings also review cardio-pulmonary anatomy, discuss the limitations and future of AI in CXR, and briefly touch upon other modalities used for lung imaging.

Did you know?

A lesser-known effect of chest X-rays is inattentional blindness, where an expected finding (like a lung nodule) can cause observers to miss something completely unexpected, such as a hidden gorilla in the image, a phenomenon that even expert radiologists fall prey to.
