Description

This course provides MRI technologists (and interested learners) a strong introduction to fMRI techniques and studies. The reading covers fMRI methods, brain and nervous system anatomy, BOLD, perfusion, and diffusion techniques. Also included are brain mapping, current research, and the future of fMRI. Accepted by ARMRIT®.

Did you know?

The Functional MRI (fMRI) BOLD signal is a remarkably indirect and delayed measurement of neural activity. While electrical firing occurs in milliseconds, the BOLD signal measures the hemodynamic response—the subsequent influx of oxygenated blood—which typically peaks 4 to 6 seconds after the neural event. This delay is a critical factor when interpreting time-sensitive cognitive studies.
